Studio Mosaic is an online and real-life reflection (usually a messy one) of my love of anything related to paper arts.
The description of mosaic at Dictionary.com perfectly defines my studio-mosaic: composed of a combination of diverse elements.
Mosaic - the final result of any of my work is composed of many parts, usually colorful and varied, and stems from many years of experimenting and playing.
I am self-taught in many things but also give credit to classes I've taken online and off. In high school lettering was something I practiced and practiced, although my everyday handwriting is still a mess! For the past 35+ years, I've immersed myself in calligraphy, card making, a little bit of scrapbooking - mainly with handmade journals, watercolor, and mixed media. You name it, I've probably spent hours learning some art form!
For the past few years I've been fortunate to combine my art experience with Visual Faith. This allows me to spend time in His Word, by embellishing any study I may be doing in my Bible or notebook. It sure does help me remember context.
This newest endeavor resulted in teaching others how to linger longer in His Word by organizing one-day retreat, monthly meet-ups, and presentations to other groups. I am a One-Day Retreat Leader for Visual Faith Ministries.
I am thankful for all gifts and talents that God has bestowed on me, and look forward to whatever is around each new corner as my life seems to be in fast forward!
Laus Deo
